Internship: Applied Behavioural Economics (Southern Africa)

The Applied Behavioural Economics team (ABE) run an internship programme for talented South Africans looking to explore a career in behavioural economics, or simply looking to add patina to an already illustrious academic career. 

We can accommodate only two interns at a time, who are typically contracted for 3 to 4 months. Given the high demand for the programme, potential candidates are encouraged to apply on an ongoing basis, and to keep in contact. 

The programme is ideally suited to part-time students and candidates who find themselves in limbo, between degrees, or awaiting results.

  • Strong academic background – We will entertain applications from any discipline, but excellence is a non-negotiable
  • An Honour’s degree, or equivalent, is a minimum requirement. A Master’s degree is preferred
  • Golden Key members are strongly preferred
  • Proactive self-starter who displays confidence and assertiveness in their approach
  • Strong writing skills – ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Strong research, analytical and lateral thought processes
